hi Partha,
the B2BUA that you are mentioning would be an AS in IMS terms. I believe
the AS generates a ICID for each session (multiple dialogs can be there
within that session). This ICID gets passed on to all nodes in SIP
messages, which will be used to generate CDRs. So the common ICID in all
CDRs can be used by the nodes you mention to correlate the CDRs coming
from multiple nodes.
regards,
ravi.

Subject: Re: [Sip-implementors] B2BUA //
Hi Ravi,
Thank you for the response. I am trying to implement the CDF and
CGF as defined by 3GPP with some tweaks.
What I am interested in is how to relate the different sessions
created by a B2BUA to a single call? Take the example of Pre-paid
service where the prepaid application server acts as a B2BUA, creating
sessions for playing announcements, session for connecting to party B
etc. All the above sessions that get created should be related to the
same call. Any insight into how Billing is done in such scenarios will
be appreciated.
Thanks,
Partha.

Hi Partha,
The answer depends on the type of the network you are
talking about.
If your billing system has intelligence to correlate the
CDRs from
multiple elements
to generate a consolidated usage information, more than
one element can
generate CDRs.
If not, there can be a central control element which
alone is generating
CDRs.
Regards,
Ravi.
