Hi, Re-direct servers can use either 401 or 407. It depends on how the re-direct server is implemented.
a)If it is implemented as a Re-direct server (only) -- 401 is preferred. b)If it is a combination of redirect/Register/Proxy -- 407 is preferred. Because in case (b) it is not the final entity to receive the message as it is also acting as a proxy server.
