Hi
I am new to the sip world. i know that it is a newly emerging signalling
protocol. at the moment, i want to use JAIN-SIP to write an ip telephony
application for my final project. i have tried my best to read online tutorials
and its API specifications. would you please answer me the ff questions?
1.what do i need to write my application using jain -sip? i have an
exprience of using J2SE. can i use this J2SE jdk to develope my application?
2.where can i download the software package that enables me to write my
application using jain-sip and how can i install it so that it will work with
the J2SE i am using (jdk 1.4)?
3.what do i need to know other java technologies to be able to write my
applications like JMF or Java sound ?
4.In some similar sample codes i came across on the internet, i have noticed
some xml codes are added. so is the knowlege of xml a must for me to write my
application?
My questions are surely biggner's questions. as i said i am a biggner. So i
would appreciate answers to any number of the questions or any site with
related content.
  more inforamtion about me:
i just use the computer lab of my university and we use windows operating
system there.

  Thanks in advance.
  Amare
