Wrong list again, would have suited more on

Anyway, to answer your questions:

The DTMF digit is put in payload part of RTP in the 'event' field. Refer to
Section 3.10 in RFC 2833 to know the event corresponding to each digit. The
'duration' field refers to how long a DTMF digit should be played at the
recipient. Regarding frequency, it is the modulation frequency of a tone &
is already explained in RFC 2833 as:

The frequencies of the tones to be added, measured in Hz and represented as
a 12-bit unsigned integer. The field size is sufficient to represent
frequencies up to 4095 Hz, which exceeds the range of telephone
systems. A value of zero indicates silence. A single tone can contain any
number of frequencies.

Refer to Section 4.2 for examples of common tones.

I hope this helps.

Gaurav

Subject: Query

Hi,

I have a query regarding DTMF RFC 2833.

In this RFC there are two method described for sending DTMF digits

* Send digit (Mean send digit as mentioned in section 3)

* Send DTMF tone (Mean send DTMF digit frequence section 4)

How are we suppose to put DTMF digit in payload part of RTP.
What is meant by digit and frequency.

Regards
Man Mohan Singh Bisht
