Hi,

I have a query regarding late 1XX ( except 100 Trying ) responses received
by proxy on the same branch, where it has already received 200 OK. ( may
happen when next hop does forking ).

What should be the expected behavior of proxy in this scenario? Should the
proxy absorb the 1XX ( except 100 Trying ) response or should it forward
the response.

RFC 3261 says that :
Until a final response has been sent on the server transaction, the
following responses MUST be forwarded immediately:
? Any provisional response other than 100 (Trying)
? Any 2xx response

"After a final response has been sent on the server transaction, the
following responses MUST be forwarded immediately:
? Any 2xx response to an INVITE request

So dropping this type of 1XX response may not support mechanisms like
precondition etc in IMS.

With Regards
Raghu
