Dear there,

I have a question about session-mode IM over 3GPP IMS. If there are two
separated servers located at Application Server in 3GPP IMS Architecture,
one is SIP Call Server for advanced call feature processing, the other is IM
Server for IM Service processing containing deferred messaging, IM logging
processing. As we know, both SIP Call and Session-Mode IM use SIP INVITE
for session establishment. So if a client sends a SIP INVITE request for
session-mode IM to S-CSCF, how does S-CSCF tell this INVITE is for IM Server
not for SIP Call Server and then trigger this request to the right serving
server? How does iFC (initial Filter Criteria) set for this need? Or S-CSCF
should parse the SDP within INVITE request then know it is for IM session
establishment so that forward this request to IM Server? Am I something miss
on 3GPP IMS knowledge?

Thanks for your response in advance.

BR,
Jeffrey
