8.1.1 Generating the Request

A valid SIP request formulated by a UAC MUST, at a minimum, contain
the following header fields: To, From, CSeq, Call-ID, Max-Forwards,
and Via; all of these header fields are mandatory in all SIP
   requests.

Subject: [Sip-implementors] Is the VIA header mandatory in all request messages

Hello,

I have a question regarding the VIA header in request messages.

I've noticed that the RFC does not mention the VIA header to be mandatory in
all requests, yet it seems to be the case in most implementations.

My question is does anyone know of or has ever come across a request message
without the VIA header in it?

Thx

Rami
