It would be one of three alternatives for "application signaling". The 
other two being the existing event framework, and the other being the 
newly proposed info framework.

I am nearly done with a draft which I'll submit shortly that provides 
guidance on selection of a mechanism. I think there are cases for all three.

Exactly. In those cases you'd use a signaling path solution.
