I look where (stable) releases are published: http://sipxecs.sipfoundry.org/pub/sipXecs/LatestStable/FC/8/i386/RPM/ The last one has build number 012233 This is how I check to which branch it corresponds: svn log -v -r 12233 http://sipxecs.sipfoundry.org/rep/sipXecs And it looks to me like a revision on 3.10 branch (and not on 3.10.1 branch). The branch policy is here: http://www.sipfoundry.org/sipx-project-processes/sipx-project-processes.html#branches While there aren't any rules there against creating branches with names like "3.10.1", I still think it's confusing.
