i rand dig from the sipx box. I'm using sipx1.xxx.org, which is the domain of
sipx1 but it resovles to the public sipx1.xxx.org which is the public ip of
eth1 on the inGate which is its public ipaddr. i was thinking that dig from
the sipx should have given the priivate ipadd not the public ipaddr or both??.
Is this also your thinking?

PS i will do the DNS resolve from wihing sipX admin next.

This can happen if your SIP domain does not resolve to the IP address of
your box. Please do a DNS lookup (using 'dig' utility of instance) on your SIP
domain and make sure that the answer you get is the IP of your box. If not
then either change the DNS record or the IP of your box to resolve the
inconsistency.
