If your looking for an all encompassing HA solution, it is not part of sipx.

HA in sipx at this point provides basic call availability in the event of a
failure. So if your PBX dies, at least calls go in and out, the system is
still in a partial state.

For most people, this is "enough", as building a sipx server and restoring a
recent backup can be accomplished in a few hours. This provides a decent level
of protection from downtime.

When we have customers that require full HA, we use clustering with shared
storage (SAN) or other software like DoubleTake for linux. Of course, that
part of a solution is a bit more expensive than opensource software.

I'm not a developer so no need to ask in the dev list. As you say, they are
well aware.
My question is for the end users, to see if anyone else/others have some
workarounds to these problems.

Thanks.

Mike
