For a legacy PBX the External MWI would be the number the 
system needs to dial to reach the user on the PBX. For example
if dialing plan routed calls to 817777 to user 7777 on the PBX
then you would enter 817777 in the External MWI field.

I expect your configuration will be similar to this.
