I'm still plugging away at it, and only can work on it late at night after business hours since the SipX is on production. So far I've been able to get a softphone connect to Asterisk and dial an extension on SipX and vice versa, but only one way audio. (Cannot dial external yet from the Asterisk box.) Both the Asterisk / SipX is on the same subnet behind a NAT.
Here's my setup. I'm using a siptrunk/sipxbridge on the SipX to connect to the ITSP. I created another gateway on SipX and setup a dialplan to route only 3 digit calls to the Asterisk box. On the Asterisk box, I created a siptrunk pointing to the SipX box and setup outgoing dialing plan. That's as far as I've gotten, until another night. It would be nice for someone who has successfully done this with Asterisk + Hylafax to document the configs step by step for us dummies. I'll keep you posted as I move forward.
