So Doug,

just to clarify...

Are you saying that you would need to partition the
directories below at install time or can it be done post
install and operation?

/var/log/sipxpbx
/var/sipxdata

Our Linux admins are considering adding symbolic links to
move the above directories into their own file systems.

with relative or absolute path of the directory that needs
to be created? i.e will this continue to work (!)?

Yes, the reason for doing this is to protect the box from
filling up its disks with logs and voicemails. currently,
the logs stand at just under 2GB, for a 50 voicemail only
user system with all services in default logging mode.
