In regards to the PermGen setting - I was able to set '-XX:MaxPermSize=256M'
in the /usr/bin/sipxconfig.sh, and we've yet to have JAVA bork up on us -
though we're only capped at 256MB. I wonder if I need to lift that some,
just in case.

yes, but more on the side of allocating more memory. ;)  Only because
it's running out of a certain kind apparently (PermGen)

memory consumption is getting out of hand.   architecturally, there
are a number of things we should do and profile our applications (java
and apparently proxy) and make sure they are not being grossly
negligent.
