I'm you are registering to sipx.domain.com instead of domain.com (not
using the SRV record for that device)? I was recently told that if I
register to fqdn.domain.com instead of domain.com -- outbound
caller-id settings on the user record don't "match up" and the userid
is what is sent.
and, by the way, thats another thing. we see lots of people who want to
try sipx, play with it, look at its features (which are fantistic) and
bump into 'you must be a dns expert to even get this thing to boot',
when its pretty trivial to get an askerisk or even a freeswitch test
setup at your house.
(yes, I had ip addresses in there..
just changed it.
ok, now they won't register, don't answer, get no dial tone.
and, yes, I checked srv records at the cli, and yes, I selected the box
on the ata: use srv records.
ps, if you edit the proxy field on the cisco device page on sipx, you
can't ever put a domain back in. it forces you to delete the device and
put it back in.. yes, open jira on this,
