I know this entails more work, but for sanity sake, would it not make sense
to have a log kept that shows all patches that are applied to a given
release. From a troubleshooting standpoint, it would be nice to be able to
open a file that shows what has been installed since the last release. Is
there a possibility of creating a Patch.log file that get placed into a
specific folder to show what patches are applied, when the patches are
installed, that gets moved during a complete software update.

If you look at many of the other products on the market, they will show you
a list of applied patches, it's the only way to know what is running on the
system, versus what is required to run on the system.

I believe there is already a jira open for it to show in the gui what
patches are installed. I'll search for the email on it.

Gui is great, but having an extra simple text file included in the patches
RPM that is placed into a patches folder to document what was done would be
a very simple solution to implement without changes to the gui. It would be
simple enough to modify a Jar file to provide a list of those files to the
gui once it is implemented.

Example - 4.4 patch 1.txt as the first set of patch files, with the txt
file containing a list of the fixes that were applied. The list of fixes
that Doug sent out should be adequate I suspect, so there would not be extra
work.
