There is a nationwide Hosted VOIP carrier that uses the SPA9xx series with
their customers. The customers like the phones themselves, from what I see,
but not the service itself. I figure if they have them working on their
network reliably, then there must be a magic method of making them work on
sipXecs as well. So far, the results have been good, not excellent, but
getting there.

I believe this offers a business opportunity, migrating them from Hosted
VOIP to sipXecs. I've migrated one so far, and working on a second now.
Customer loves sipXecs.

i always saw issues with the devices rebooting and attaching to wrong vlan
even after the vlan was manually set and the config file stated it, then i
chucked 'em. at least i got a workout.

With the SPA942, the phones work great. The only issues I'm seeing right
now is Shared Line Appearance not work, WIKI implies it's not supported so
that is okay, and the clock doesn't display correct time - seem to display
GMT, rather than local time. Need to dig into that still.

MOH, transfer, internal and external calls, Paging, Intercom, all seem to
work as advertised.

There are some tips for making these work in the WIKI. I didn't use them
initially, and had great results. I tried them later, and had negative
results. I think using those tips is not necessary, and will need to be
reviewed.

Once I find some more SPA942 for my lab, I'll test in a sterile environment
and update the wiki.

Acutally MoH works fine for internal calls.
