An entity (e.g. UA) behind a NAT sends STUN request to a STUN server to known the public IP address and port pair allocated by NAT correspoding to a private pair (e.g. SIP contact or media source of the *UA*). So UA doesn't use STUN to obtain any information of proxy.

With the same STUN server, you can use any proxy.
