I'm a bit confused about the difference. Are there two methods of sending DTMF
signals defined in rfc2833?
Here is a quote from my contact at Alcatel:

Does this mean that their implementation uses DTMF in audio stream? Again, I
apologize for my ignorance, as I stated previously then this is all quite new
to me.

I'm just using some windows sound device, which apparently has a unique
identifier. There is no additional hardware involved, just software (which uses
the BASS library internally).
