Just have a look into the HIG (human interface guidelines) of Apple and you see that the icon doesn't really fit http://developer.apple.com/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/OSXHIGuidelines/XHIGIcons/chapter_15_section_1.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/20000967-TP6 Especially "Icon Perspectives and Materials": http://developer.apple.com/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/OSXHIGuidelines/XHIGIcons/chapter_15_section_7.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/20000967-TPXREF106 Besides of the perspective and that the light source shines on it from the wrong direction the icon doesn't really show the purpose of the application - it would fit more to some kind of word processor I think or a general icon for documents than it does for an application that is a pdf-viewer with note-taking abilities and it should be maybe more "Mac OS X user application icons should be vibrant and inviting" (http://developer.apple.com/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/OSXHIGuidelines/XHIGIcons/chapter_15_section_3.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/20000967-TPXREF101). Enough of the criticism - I think it's a start in the right direction.
