Hi- Running the most recent version of Skim 1.3.19 (70), but I think this goes back a bit farther. Skim's running on a MacPro 5,1 and Lion 10.7.2.
I work with scanned OCR'ed PDFs a lot: Fujitsu page scanner, Acrobat to clean up and DEVONthink/AABBYY to OCR. I often use Option-select to highlight areas of text in these PDFs. Here's what happens (I'm surprised I could screen capture it): In selecting a paragraph, everything seems fine: <http://vze26m98.net/skim/1-partial.png> But when I get to the paragraph's final line, WHICH DOESN'T EXTEND FULLY TO THE RIGHT MARGIN: <http://vze26m98.net/skim/2-total.png> The "blue selection" disappears, although the selection rectangle remains. Then when I make my selection, the highlight is correctly filled: <http://vze26m98.net/skim/3-result.png> So all's OK. I know this is pretty much a cosmetic issue, but if you have much experience with highlighting text on scanned PDFs, the OCR'ed text frequently doesn't line up with the scan, so the "blue selection" indication is often critical to obtaining the text you're after. Anyway, thanks for Skim: a lovely and useful application! Charles ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Try before you buy = See our experts in action!
