Re: Skim 1.3.22 on Mac PowerPC 10.5.8 How should PDF file be saved in Skim to preserve editable features of highlighting, etc.? As a bundled .PDFD file?
Or should I be able to just save a PDF with highlighting as usual, and have it always remain editable in skim. I realize without flattening the file, highlighting is not visible in other readers/editors. I've tested saving PDF with highlights, closing and reopening, and the highlights are always editable, but I don't want to discover one day that they're not editable anymore. I've just started using Skim, and am trying to figure out why my PDF highlights became UNeditable, and am not sure of what I've read in the manual. I don't think I did anything but open file, highlight and save in Skim, but then one day when I went back to a saved file the highlighting wasn't editable anymore. I'm not sure, but I may have flattened the file to test visibility of highlights in Preview or Acrobat Pro, and that made them no longer editable. Thought I did that as Save As to create a separate file, but may have saved over existing file, or trashed the one with editable highlights. Not sure at this point, just want to make sure it doesn't happen again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Master Visual Studio, SharePoint, SQL, ASP.NET, C# 2012, HTML5, CSS, MVC, Windows 8 Apps, JavaScript and much more.
