Thank you, Jan, for a complete solution. I am not planning on implementing it
now, as I can use synchronization via .skim files by hand for my current needs.
But it looks like a very robust solution to this problem.
Has anyone contacted Dropbox support about this? I did, and after first-tier
support bumped me to someone who supposedly could help, he suggested
a) That perhaps I had neglected to install Skim on both machines, and failing
that
b) Skim uses .skim files to attach annotations to pdf files, and I should
figure out how to use them
He didn’t even bother to look at my notes or understand what extended
attributes are. Anyone have a ticket number that they can give me so I can cite
that this is actually a problem with Dropbox?
