Perhaps I am confused by Christiaan’s response here. Do you mean that you have 
fixed this bug in the source, but haven’t yet released it (in presumably Skim 
1.4.11)? If so, would it be possible to accelerate the release of 1.4.11?—I’d 
love to have the up/down arrows working again (even if the work-around is 
weird!)

That has already been reported on the bug reporter, and fixed in the source. It 
shows why I initially did not want to fix this issue, it really is Apple's bug 
that should be fixed by Apple, we don't know what kind of weird things they do 
behind the internally (and it was weirder than I had expected).
