[Skypeenglish] Messages left for chat

Hi list;
Does anyone know whether there is a setting in chat whereby I can leave a chat 
message for my contact when they are offline for them to pick up when they log 
in to skype as they have not received it when logged on?  I wondered whether 
both parties needed to be on together to receive chat message as history is 
enabled.
