Greetings Jack and list. The number you're seeing at the top of your
screen, is the number of missed events you have. Missed events include new
voice mails, missed calls, contact requests, file transfer requests,
birthday notifications, and probably many more that I can't think of right
now! *lol*
To get to the missed events in Skype 4.1, press Ctrl+2 to get to the
conversations list, and use your up and down arrow keys to navigate. To
delete an entry from the conversations list, simply press the delete key.
