Nowadays most lists are archived and accessible to indexing engines
like Google. I'm not sure if this one is, but I know few lists that
aren't. Unfortunately, this means that posting a message on any
mailing list may subject you to spam, through no fault of the list
participants, moderator, or list host. I know of no way around this,
but it is the reason I strongly discourage people from sending mail to
a list while also sending the same message to private contacts, such
as with the Cc line, unless those people are also on the same list or
don't mind the chance taken.
