Sorry people are not going to like me for saying this but what skype needs
to do at this point is not allow anything under skype 4.01 to connect to the
skype network. I mean my god this guy the other day called me using skype
1.4 and the compatability issues we had interfaceing the two were
interesting to say the least.

Hi Steve,
First of all, go to your skype options, under advanced settings and tab
untill you hear something related to updates and alerts... There are four
checkBoxes that you have to check in order to prevent skype updates.
However, even you do that, you might get skype trying to force the new
update on you whenever you sign in to skype or you start your computer, be
careful. I suggest that you start pressing alt+f4 whenever you sign into
skype quickly for about thirty seconds, if there is an update running,
you'll get a message asking you if you really want to cancel the update, tab
to ok and hit enter. That way, you are safe at least until you sign again to
your skype account.
