I've had problems this same way with skype in the past. Even when I saved
my settings, somehow the settings in the control panel would change, and the
volume would go down to about 12%, even when the option to allow skype to
set the audio settings was not enabled.

I have a friend who is not on list that also has had problems with his
Microphone. He was able to hear me but as far as me hearing him it was
virtually impossible. I did help him to change his settings within Audio
Settings and got him up and working. After he adjusted his mic settings I
could hear him perfectly and vice versa. Now though I am not sure what has
happened because we are back at square one. He does not live close enough
to actually go there and take a look at it as he lives in the UK and I live
in the United States. He does not use Jaws 10 or higher so Tandem sessions
are out of the question. He swears up and down that he has made no changes
after we got him running but that it has reverted on its own. Not sure why
it would do this but back to what i was going to suggest. Like mentioned
previously press alt T for tools then o for options then scroll down to
where you hear audio settings at that point your friend will want to tab to
make the appropriate device selection. Like mentioned previously also the
first combo box is where your friend will land which is the mic setting.
After selecting the appropriate combo box tab a couple of more times and
make sure adjust automatically checkbox is checked. To ensure settings the
friend can do a test call if they tab on toward the end of the page to
check the settings for their self. HTH

Hi Jennifer and list. I'm assuming that the microphone in this case is
enabled, so let's look at the options in Skype.
Open Skype, activate the Tools menu with Alt+T, then press O for options.
Press the down arrow once to get to Audio Settings and press Tab. You
should now be on the setting for the microphone. From the combo box,
select the default Windows device, whether it be onboard sound, an
external soundcard, or a USB headset.

Hello allare out of the question.out of the question. I have sent him
the Jaws 10 direct link so he could A friend not on list is having
problems with calls using skype 4.2 and
windows 7.
He can hear Incoming callers, however noe one can hear him.
Having dificulty finding anything about the microphone muting in windows
7.
This is on a lap top and have tried it with both the laptop built in
mike
and a headset with microphone with the same results.
