i did this and jaws said goodbye.
however skype talking is still being heard.

i tried alt control shift q again and nothing happened but i still hearpeople go on and off lineand as a matter of fact what would be the command to get it reinstated afterpressing alt control shift q?

there is not a new version.
if you have skype talking you can start that first then start skype.
skype talking then says authorised user and your name.
then skype loads and you continue to use skype in the normal way
it is quicker than starting skype then loading skype talking.
but what i want to know is how to reverse it.

so that i have no skype programs at all then when i press start skypejaws does not say skype talking launching and authorised user.i can't remember how to close skype talking down to enable me to startskype as though i never had skype talking.

then i can start skype talking if i want to.

If you do a alt control shift p, in skype talking, under general,there's one for automatically start skype with skype talking. I thinkthat's the one you want.

can someone tell me how to prevent skype talking launching.

in other words when i log on to skype i don't want to hear who isonline and offline.

i know that if you press enter on skype talking instead of skype itstarts to play

then if i go to skype and press enter i hear all the announcements
what i want to do is start skype with no skype talking.

and if i want to then turn it on and off using the command i believeto be alt control shift i keysso can anyone tell me how to go on skype without skype talking beingpresent?

i forgot to say with skype i don't have to leave it on charge like ido my cordless and mobile phone handsets

i have to charge the battery on those.
on skype there isn't one to charge

Just for a bit of perspective... I've been around long enough tohave

seen the following things happen to the good old telephone network:

1. An outage covering a good portion of my home town that stoppedall

calls in and out of part of the city for most of an evening.

2.  A national wiring mixup that caused calls from all over the
country to merge onto a single line, which resulted in quite a
shouting match from time to time but also in some exchanges of
addresses and a general party atmosphere that lasted for an entire
business day.

3.  A battery backup failure that took people in several states off
the telephone network.  That one I only heard about in the news and
online forums, it did not affect me; and I don't know how long it
lasted.

I seem to recall an incident similar to the last one that affectedthenational AC power grid as well, though details and time frame forthat

one currently escape me.

In short, nothing is absolutely safe from failure. :)

and of course what about all the other countries that are not in myv

to have those included would mean an increase in my monthly charge.
and the same thing applies i could not chat all night [24/7]
so as annoying as it was for me also i had to put up with what was
happening.
but at least it is done now and i can use skype once more
and it only took 2 days to complete the work and make everyone happy
let's face it no one really recommends or has a good word for skype

when all goes in their favour but as soon as a problem arises allbad

points are automatically implied.

i am very grateful to have such a luxury as free phone callsworldwide

sorry for such a long biography but i am sure it makes sense and
hopefully someone will agree with me
