Folks, my apologies about my message about the Skype running on the taskbar.
Unchecking it from the Advanced tab will indeed keep it from running as an open window, but you would need to open up the taskbar options and then set Skype to both show Icon and Notification in the systemTray and it will show it in your Systray like in good ole Xp Sorry again for the earlier misleading message.
