I wouldn't make it so black and white, new=jack rabbit, slide=only if you
already slide.

Slide has many architectural features that are still valuable.  For example
we use custom stores to allow for varying storage for any given path to
RDBMS, File System and even external integrations such as SalesForce.com.
Jack Rabbit may be more standard and have a better/easier to use API, but is
still far short of what you can do with Slide IMHO.

Jackrabbit sound great except that there is no release yet, but I
would say that as a rule of thumb: Jackrabbit for new projects, Slide
only if there is previous investment in it. What do you think?
