Campbell complains that he doesn't have the money to go searching around for bands, maybe we should get him subscribed to Sloan Net. We have almost 200 people here discussing the East Coast music scene which is what he's supposed to be covering so maybe it would help him a little. When ever anything is happening in the Maritimes musicwise, we know about it, perhaps if we could get Mike Campbell to check us out everyonce in a while he could keep informed, rather than just reading the Birdland schedule for the upcoming month. I guess that's not really fair for me to say, they do have a budget, but you can get from Halifax to Sackville, were I live, and back if you are lucky for 30 bucks gas and Moncton is only half an hour away($35?)(well I suppose his wonderful RV takes more gas than my car). Fredericton is a little further, but 50 bucks gas maybe?. Does he est so much on the road that his expenses go way up. Maybe he's too famous to eat at McDonalds. I guess Newfoundland and PEI would be a little more with the ferry but I'm sure it's not as much as he'd like us to think. Also, I know that MuchEast has to try to appeal to all people but who are the group that MuchMusic really tries to appeal to? Teenagers and University aged students. In a day were a Green Day video is an automatic number one on the Much Music chart, is the Rankin Family really what MuchMusic vewiers want to hear? Not that they shouldn't be included, they have gained lots of success and deserve the exposure but did we have to see Jann Arden a couple of weeks ago? She's doing well but they could have talked to her on fax or something. I would think that MuchEast should be an hour were lots of new, local music is played and the bands interviewed rather than interviewing big Canadian bands that happen to be in Halifax for the night.
