Part of it. I can send it attached if you want. Please note that
different versions of bttv seem to want different files. I've using
bttv-0.78 now, not the one on the RH6 distro as that seems to be
cactus.

Aaah! that is your problem. This means you are using the defaults.
Read the MODULES file of bttv or use my starttuner file. You need to
set the tuner type=5 for Phillips or tuner type=0 for Temic (I can not
remember which is on these cards)
bttv needs pll=1, radio=0/1(none/have), card=8/10/13 Again, look in
the listing MODULES or do make list on your bttv source.
I'm currently using the Askey/Dynalink card and had to modify bttv.c
and use card=21 as Jamie Honan found the settings we needed to add to
bttv.c to get it working. But, this is the only card I've had to do
this with.

My guess is that we are talking RH6x distro here. Yep, had the same
problem and could not get it to work, so went to bttv-0.78, or the
bttv that comes with xawtv-0.41 will also work.
I believe the stuff on the RH6x distros is old and was not tested
before it was included.
Please note, if you use xawtv-0.41, you have to do the make and make
install in the /path/xawtv-0.41/bttv/driver sub-directory to get the
bttv.o, etc installed. These do not get installed from top level
xawtv* make, etc.
