What about 5.1 channel output? For example, my (old) sound card has
only stereo output, whereas my DVD player (the one on my hi-fi) has
a 5.1 channel output which gets fed to my (5.1 channel) receiver.

I haven't heard of any 5.1 channel sound cards for PC, or haven't
I been looking in the right places? Or is the 5.1 channel output
done on the DVD decoder card?
