All you need to do is add extra entries to your hosts file, eg.
127.0.0.1 ads.doubleclick.net
127.0.0.1 ads.fairfax.com.au
etc.
You may find that Netscape spits chips for some of these. Normally
it should come up with a broken image link, but sometimes it shows
you a full 404 page (which is a pain, but you can usually press
Back and Stop to make the original page display correctly).
Remember - don't block the ads on sites you truly wish to support
(eg. Slashdot, Freshmeat, etc.)!
