I have Redhet 6.1 installed on /dev/hda.
I have an old Windoze drive on /dev/hdb
Question:
How can install lilo on /dev/hdb when the boot
drive is /dev/hda? I wish to install lilo on
/dev/hdb and then swap the drives and use the
second drive as the boot (i.e. as /dev/hda)
After reading the extensive User_Guide.ps in
the lilo docs, and fiddling about with lilo,
all I can seem to do is install a corrupted lilo on
/dev/hdd, with the expected warning that /dev/hdb is not
the first drive.
The /dev/hdb lilo setup seemed to write to that device,
but if I make that the boot disk, the boot process
hangs in a loop spitting out "01" to the screen
endlessly.
Am i missing something here? Can lilo install a
boot setup for /dev/hda onto /dev/hdb and then
allow you to boot from that drive?
