WordPerfect 5.1 (UNIX Version) has always run unmodified , same file format
(even the DOS printer driver files can be copied to the UNIX box). Going
from UNIX to DOS was only a problem if you used the long filenames that the
UNIX system allowed.
I have several clients running this. The last character based port is
WordPerfect 5.2 for UNIX. The SCO port will run quite happily on Linux.
I have a client that has literally man years of time invested in a document
processing system written with 5.1 macros. He now runs it under Linux.
WordPerfect changed the macro language when they moved to V6
