I took the dumb approach, ticked KDE, unticked Gnome, during install.
Not really partisan, but everything everywhere said Gnome was buggy,
I don't care what it looks like, that's falling into the Microsoft trap
of caring more about bevelled edges & shadowed buttons than about
correctness, reliability & usefulness to get work done.
Have only played with KDE a little, but it seems to work.
