The referral is deception. They don't know that by clicking there they
are effectively giving you money.

Well, remove your sig when it is not appropriate like I, and most likely
others do. The fact is this list is 100% Linux, and is 100% about people
who use Linux (despite the fact that some may have to use Windows).

Abuse of Internet protocols for advertising is stupid and abusive to the
equipment. This media was not designed for this and should not be abused
by mediahouses for this. They don't own the Internet and should not try
to make such a large imprint on it which essentially destroys it.

I didn't say that. I said if you do not, thus meaning that you do have a
chance to respond.

Please post their reply to the list. I'll be sure to forward a copy to
the upstream content provider as well.

I am in no position to tell you what you can and can not do on this list.
Please don't misinterpret that I am. I am saying that portions of your
messages are unsolicited and unwanted.
However, you have now said you will stop using the .sig and that's good
enough for me.
