Found some more information that might help jog some memories
The line before cdrecord dumps says something about initialising OPC. Looking at the
recent change file for cdrecord it says
"- Added send_opc routine to driver interface. This was needed because of a Firmware
bug in the Ricoh 7040 and 7060 drives. The MMC standad requires that a drive will
automatically perform OPC but the Ricoh drives don't do this."
Hmm, ok. So I downloaded a copy of cdrecord before this change was put in - ala
version 1.6 and everything burns fine. Im wondering if because my 7060 is a new one
pretty much straight off the assembly line mayby Richo fixed the firmware bug. If
cdrecord is trying to step around a firmware bug that isn't there anymore would this
be a possible cause of the core dump ??
This sound reasonable ???
