I'm using the exact same drive with cdrecord 1.8 and connected to an
NCR 53c810 rev 18 controller. I purchased the drive last week and have
burned a re-writable, a couple of data CD's and in the wee hours of
this morning an audio CD using cdrecord in each case from the command
line, and at 4 speed mind you. Maybe they fixed up cdrecord to spot
the difference in 1.8?
data:
cdrecord -dev=0,1,0 -v -fs=4000k -speed=4 -eject -data $IMAGE
audio:
cdrecord -dev=0,1,0 -v -speed=4 -audio -pad $WAVDIR/*.wav
Here's the output of cdrecord -dev=0,1,0 -prcap
