Compaq 3000 Dual Processor XEON with Smart Array controller.
6 x 18 gig disks in RAID 10 config. (3 striped and then mirrored)
(the system is an absolute screamer)

Redhat 6.0 (with updates), kernel is stock RH6.0 which is
kernel-smp-2.2.5-22.i686.rpm, runs a dataflex database.

The system hung, strange thing, you could ping it, but that was all.
console dead, no telnet access, existing users were dumped off.
Had to cold boot.

There was an error trace in the messages file.
Any suggestions?

It looks as though perhaps the system tried to execute some bad OP codes.
The disk system must have been working or I wouldn't have the trace.

This has happened twice (once in January..doh!)

I have rebooted the system with a non-smp kernel to see how we go.
Any suggestions as where I may find more info would be greatly appreciated.

I may have to update the kernel package. Perhaps the smp needs it.

Thanks in advance, Ian Ward
