I just had a look at globetrotter's site
http://www.globetrotter.com/homegsi.htm
and they have flexlm compiled for Linux.
This is the software that is used these days instead of dongles.
If a company develops something that requires a license, they compile it to
use flexlm.
The problem with dongles is that they have to be known about by the
hardware, which means drivers and such.

This is obviously of no interest to those people who are developing open
source software!
