That's a bit different to mine.
I have something like this in the mail aliases file on a machine called
"someone":
rowling:rowling@amachine
root:root@amachine
where in the hosts file on "someone" I have
192.xx.xxx.xxx someone someone. loghost
192.xx.xxx.xxx amachine amachine. mailhost
I don't have anything in the aliases file on "amachine", and its hosts file
has someting like this:
192.xx.xxx.xxx someone someone.
192.xx.xxx.xxx amachine amachine. loghost mailhost
Instead of "amachine." in both cases you can have the fully qualified domain
name like "amachine.some.com.au" if you are going outside (my setup is for
an intranet).
OK, it's not exactly dynamic, but it works.
