The only thing sendmail can execute are files in the /etc/smrsh directory.

So either you put your perl script there or you make a link (not sure, if
link really works).

And there is also something in the sendmail.cf you have to activate.

in my /etc/aliases file and 'newalises'ed it

when i send mail to here, it bounces as below. how do i make it run my
very simple prog? btw: the prog runs fine from the command prompt
