Microsoft pushes MCSE in schools
Students will soon be able to qualify for a Microsoft Certified Systems
Engineer (MSCE) certification while still at school. Microsoft Australia
has entered into deal with the Federal Government to train students in the
use of Microsoft products. Students will be able to sit individual
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) exams which will go towards
qualifying for an MSCE. Microsoft has committed $6.5 million over the next
3 years to the program. The company will also give two students $2,500
each, if they can demonstrate they have used Microsoft products in
"innovative and creative ways to complete their studies." The training is
currently being offered in 16 schools throughout Australia and will expand
in June to accommodate over 18,000 students and 700 teachers. Twenty-five
Australian universities have also signed up.
