A calendar is a useful utility. In a large site, it can keep track of
resources (e.g. room, data projector) allocations and prevent two groups
trying to claim it at the same time. For people much in demand it allows
others to see when they can have a meeting with those people.
Here we use NS's calendar which is proprietary and sometimes doesn't
work well. There are some open source ones if you search freshmeat.net.
No idea how well they work.
