I'd start by backing up /etc/printcap and then deleting the original.
what do you get when you do a "lpc status" command?
You should see something like this:
kyocera:
queuing is enabled
printing is enabled
no entries
no daemon present
My printcap looks like this:
kyocera:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp:\
:mx#0:\
:sh:\
:rm=203.21.207.5:\
:rp=kyocera:\
:if=/var/spool/lpd/lp/filter:
Is "lpd" running when you do a "ps -ef |grep lpd"?
So what do you get?
PS: Has anybody looked into installing "webmin" on their machines?
It's quite good and easy to maintain your server/workstation.
